I seriously love our weekends!

As usual we had another fantastic weekend!

The weather is finally coming back up (it was in the low-to-mid 80s here all weekend...I know you northern folks are hating us) and so I decided it was just too nice to stay in the house all day. I actually got up at a decent time (Scott is laughing reading this -- it was 8:30 when I got up!) and we ate breakfast and immediately hit the back yard to rake leaves, sweep the patio and play!

After that hard work was done, and I was putting away the broom and cleaning myself up a bit, I noticed Angelica was looking out the front door. There are three little girls who live on our street (ages 10, 7, and 4) and they were riding around in this motorized Barbie car. So, I told Angelica she could go out and play with her friends.

Now...both Scott and I are what I'd call..."socially awkward". I had thought Angelica had inherited this trait because she's always been pretty reserved around other kids. But nope, this time she just walked right up to these girls and started playing! They rode around our little cul-de-sac about 300 times in that Barbie car before doing wagon rides and sharing some juice and gummy snacks together. She was totally just hanging out with some buddies and having a great time. It was wonderful to see her open up like that!

Later that afternoon we went to the park to hang out with her friends Rylie and Bryce (and some of their friends, too)! She kind of went back to being her reserved self (I guess she used up all her social skills with the neighborhood kids) but still had a great time. We went for Italian Ice at Jeremiah's afterward and it was just wonderful.

Sunday we woke up and did the usual Sunday morning stuff...breakfast, church, Farmer's Market, then headed to a local indoor kids place called Amaya Papaya for some open play. I have to admit that her social skills deteriorated a bit while we were there...she hit a kid and then (much to my horror) kicked a baby and I had to put her in time out. After that she behaved herself and we had a lot of fun!

Last night we finally started our spring cleaning process...it was time to take the changing table out of her bedroom (we haven't used that thing in months). That made room for her toy box, which had been in a closet stuffed full of toys she hadn't used in a long time. Let me tell you, that was so exciting for her! She even helped me push that big toy chest down the hall like a big kid, and then had fun going through the box. It was mostly stuffed animals, so each one she'd take out and say, "Hey, it's a doggie!" (big hug), "Hey, it's a bunny!" (big hug), "Hey, it's a teddy bear!" (big hug). And so on. After that excitement, I packed away her winter clothes, vacuumed, and steam cleaned her carpet. Her room is now the neatest, tidiest room in the house!

Side note about the farmer's market yesterday: We've made it somewhat of a tradition to go out to lunch while we're downtown and then head back to the Farmer's Market to pick up anything that needs refrigeration so it doesn't go bad. Anyway, as we're packing up to leave, I was trying to discreetly count how much cash I had left for the farmer's market, and Angelica saw it and went nuts! She kept saying she wanted "THIRTY-SIX OF DOLLARS!" I have no idea why she wanted thirty-six! So we talked about money and I told her I didn't have that much to give her and she had a tantrum. Eventually I talked her down to six. And then one. And she guarded that dollar with her life. Until I snuck it away to spend on fresh-squeezed orange juice.

And so ended the weekend! I love that we always have our super fun adventures. I can't wait for the next one!

The passage of time...

Let me preface this by saying that yes, I am a huge emotional sap of a person and things like time and the past have a warm place in my heart, good or bad.

As I write this, I'm on my Blackberry, walking and cooling off from a satisfying run. But I do my best thinking in these quiet moments and I wanted to blog what I've been thinking about tonight.

For all you new moms or first time moms to be, heed this but know you will not truly understand this until your "baby" is almost three and a co-worker you haven't seen in a long time mentions that she remembers when you went on maternity leave, and it hits you that it was so long ago but feels like yesterday: moments with your baby will pass faster than you can ever imagine.

Tonight I packed up most of the winter clothes in Angelica's dresser and unpacked her spring wardrobe. The 18 months outfits that fit her just six months ago were way too small now, and she now fills out quite nicely her 2T and even a handful of smaller 3T outfits. In the bottom of that box was a 3 month onesie that had somehow gotten placed in there and the day I packed away her first set of baby clothes came rushing back. I think I even blogged about that, probably around August or September 2008 (can't go back and look on my phone, maybe I'll add the link later).

I have baby fever like crazy, even though the time is not yet right for us to have baby number two, and when I see how Angelica has truly become a little GIRL I crave the cuddles of a newborn. My big girl already wants her freedom and independence and I respect that.

You see, she was a very high needs baby. I could not put her down or she would scream like a banshee. That lasted until she was about 3 months old. It drove me crazy because I just needed a break...but in hindsight I feel like I should have cherished that more. Then she didn't sleep through the night until she was almost a year old...and now I miss our late night/early morning snuggles.

It's true. Those phases pass so fast. And it's bittersweet to think that the terrible twos (and trecherous threes!) are sure to just be memories soon.

But I'm going to hold on to these moments as best as I can, as I always have. I will try to remember as much as I can. She is amazing.

{Linky} Got Toys? Thursday Toy Giveaway Link-Up, 2/24

Welcome to the Got Toys? Thursday Giveaway Link-Up!

This link-up is designed to promote your giveaways for children's toys and products! When I'm searching around the blogosphere for giveaways, I love having the chance to win something for my daughter to play with -- and she loves getting new toys! If you're running a giveaway for anything related to children's products -- toys, clothes, feeding products, gift certificates for places that sell children's products -- link them up!!

Chances are, if you add your giveaway here, you'll get at least one entry -- from me! (If I haven't already entered!)

I'd also love it if you followed me on Google Friend Connect, Twitter, or Facebook to be reminded when this goes live each week. (This is not mandatory, just a suggestion!)

Aside from that, feel free to link up as many as you have! Oh, and enter some too!

PLEASE NOTE:
Because this is a giveaway linky for children's products, any non-family friendly giveaways will be removed from the linky (this includes Eden's Fantasy and Pure Romance). This linky isn't for THAT kind of toys, my friends!

Speaking of love? If you love this post, feel free to follow me on Twitter, Facebook, or on Google Friend Connect (right sidebar).

Thanks for playing! Good luck with your giveaways!

The Meanest Guy

Do you know who the meanest guy is? If you ask Angelica, she'll tell you:

Zurg (from Toy Story)
"Hat n Hook" (Captain Hook from Peter Pan)
Ursula (from The Little Mermaid)
Jafar (from Aladdin)
Swiper (from Dora)
Robbie Rotten (from LazyTown)
The Green Gob-o-lin (from Spiderman...which she calls "Tackular Spiderman" after the Spectacular Spiderman animated series)
And Sonic the Hedgehog. But only sometimes.

It just makes me giggle that she doesn't call them bad guys or villains...she calls them "the MEANEST guys!" She came up with that phrase all by herself, too!

Build a Sign: Custom Street Signs, Banners, and More {Review}

There's nothing quite as wonderful as getting something custom made for your little one, and one company that produces some high quality, completely customizable products is Build a Sign. You can customize everything from the fonts to the colors, choose from their design elements, or upload your own picture to create something that is uniquely yours and perfect for any use or occasion!

When Build a Sign contacted me for a product review, I had a very tough time deciding which of their wonderful products to choose. I was instantly drawn to their birthday signs, but Angelica's birthday is a few months away and I would want to customize the sign with a photo of her that was taken closer to her birthday. After scanning through their products, I finally settled on their custom street signs.

Look at how adorable this is! I ordered two of them -- one to post on Angelica's bedroom door, and another to post on the wall in her room. It's made of aluminum, and the design is really well done. It's not pixelated at all, the color won't chip, and it's sure to last well into her teenage years and beyond.

Best of all, Angelica was really delighted when she saw it! Her first reaction was, "Ooh, how pretty!" and then she yelled "Look Mommy! It's A for Angelica!" When her dad got home, she was very eager to show the signs to him.

Build a Sign also offers custom banners, bumper stickers, yard signs, and more! Their service was really fast and friendly and if the street signs are any example of the quality of their other products, they can't be beat.

Disclosure: I received the signs from Build a Sign free of charge for the purpose of this review, however, all opinions expressed in this review are mine and not influenced by the receipt of the product. A big, big thank you to Build a Sign for providing the review product!

Running My Butt Off: Week 8

I know it's been awhile since I've done a true weight loss blog. I blogged last week about my year as a vegetarian, but I think the last true weight loss post I did was on February 1st, which was week 5. To recap, I was celebrating the victory of getting back down to 251 after a couple of weeks of remaining the same weight.

Since then I've been slacking. Majorly. Between Scott's business trip and some emotional garbage I've been working through, tracking and working out have been the last things on my mind. As of this week, though, I'm back on the wagon again! I weighed in this morning...so let's recap this year's progress:

Week 1: 257
Week 2: 254 (-3)
Week 3: 254 (-0)
Week 4: 254 (-0)
Week 5: 252 (-2)
Week 8: 251 (-1)

Pretty lucky, right? I must be adopting some pretty good habits if I was still able to lose a pound without tracking or working out.

I have other good news: My knee is finally on the mend! Which means I can start Couch to 5k again! Providing Scott gets home from work at a reasonable time tonight, I'm starting tonight back at week 1, day 1. I couldn't be more excited. It has become apparent to me over the past couple of weeks just how important proper diet and exercise are, not just for my physical health, but for treating my depression as well.

Since I don't have a gym membership, I've also taken to the stairs to strengthen my leg muscles. In the past three weeks, we moved to a new building and I currently work on the tenth floor. Yesterday I got inspired by my colleague who runs 30 flights (with a weighted vest!) daily and decided to walk the ten flights down and back up to my floor. Oy. Going down was no problem but coming back up, by the fifth floor I was pretty sure I was going to die right there in the stairwell. I felt good after I was done though. It felt like an accomplishment!

This week I also got a bit of inspiration. One of my best friends (Hi Rachel!) is a personal trainer (in training) and she recently posted on Facebook about a major milestone she hit in her own fitness. Now, mind you, Rachel is considerably hotter and fitter than most girls out there, but fitting into a smaller jeans size is (generally speaking) a good thing no matter how big or small you are, as long as you're eating healthy and taking care of yourself. So I'm sparked. I want to hit that same goal...I have 20 sizes more to go than she did but I think I can do it.

I've decided to discontinue the linky because nobody was really using it, but if you miss it, comment and I'll think about bringing it back.

Thanks for reading and if you have any stories of your own from the past few weeks, comment away!

February 20, 2011

Oh, the embarrassment...

Like all two year olds, Angelica sometimes needs to be reeled in...especially if she's tired or has been cooped up for far too long, both of which were the case this afternoon. She'd had a fun morning in our church's nursery, but then was cooped up in the stroller at the very crowded farmer's market while we picked up some produce for the week. She also skipped her nap in favor of being hyper.

She also gave us the "Angelica quote of the day" in the car after the farmer's market. She asked Scott a question and he was busy so I answered...and she replied, "Mommy! Is your name DADDY? I don't think so. I was talking to DADDY!"

(Make sure you check out some of my previous posts for more funny quips by my little smart alack.)

Anyway, to the point of the story...we decided to drop off the veggies at home and run over to a local Borders store that's going out of business. I had a few books I wanted to pick up, and I figured it would also be a great chance to pick up some new reading material for Angelica since she now has pretty much all of her books committed to memory. Apparently every other person in Central Florida had the same exact idea because it took -- no joke -- an HOUR to get through the check out. (And in hindsight I probably could have saved more at Amazon.)

While we were waiting in line, Angelica decided to embarrass me in two ways that she hasn't before. First, she yanked up her dress, pulled down her shorts and started to scratch herself in front of everybody...and yelled "HEY MOM! Look at ME!" And of course when I went to quietly pull up her shorts tell her to please save that for when she's alone, she decided to scream and make a big fuss to call further attention to herself.

Second of all, as we're finally second in line at the checkout, she is majorly acting out because she is B-O-R-E-D, and I am struggling in vain to get her to cut it out and behave...and  so she begins whacking me in the face with her lovey. Lovely. I tell her to please stop because it's not nice to hit, and she might hit somebody else. (At home I have a zero-tolerance policy on hitting and she knows this and she has been getting better...but hitting is a big problem behavior for her that we're still working on really hard.)

The guy behind us in line replies, "Yeah, seriously, she's already hit me twice." And not in a joking, somewhat sympathetic way -- he said it in an "I'm really annoyed at your kid and think you're a crappy parent" kind of way. And I can't say I blame him because I'm sure I looked utterly incompetent.

I was so embarrassed I wanted to cry. I apologized for her behavior and he didn't even acknowledge my apology which just made it worse because then I really did get choked up. Fortunately we were called to the register right then and I was able to make my escape -- red faced, teary-eyed and all.

This is one of those days that Angelica's lucky she's so darn cute...

Funny Angelica Quotes

We're having an awesome girl's night in tonight! Anytime we do this, I'm sure to be treated to cute quips from my little princess.

Tonight, any amount of money is "sixty of dollars, holy cow!"

She asked for pizza but "not the kind with the circles on it" (pepperoni)

She's been very generous with sharing..."Mom, you want a chocolate breadstick? I get one for you!" (Chocolate dunkers from Pizza Hut)

She read me all of Brown Bear Brown Bear! Adorable :)

She sang me a song about the colors of the rainbow, complete with sign language AND a Spanish translation!

She also told me about how they had a clown at school and it painted a spider on her cheek (they studied the circus this week and today had a circus carnival).

I just love my little girl and these times we spend together. She makes me proud!

Five Question Friday 2/18/11

Ahh, it's finally Friday! Things have been quite crazy in this house all week...I've been flying solo all week while Scott was away on business. He was away this time last year and I survived it (but stressed -- because Angelica was a year and a half and a "handful")...this year I stressed even more because Angelica is now two and a half and a REAL handful! (Seriously, what did I know last year??) Thank goodness Scott is home today, though!

Life has been good otherwise this week too! I've seen some projects I've been working on for awhile starting to come to into their own. I am so ready for the weekend though, especially now that our little family is back together again!

On to the Five Question Friday fun!

1. Have you worn the same outfit more than one day in a row?
Yes but with good reason! I was living in Connecticut, it was December, and I had the flu. It was AWFUL. I had a super high fever and was in terrible pain because of it, it was in the single digits outside, and I had the windows open, a fan on, and was wearing the only tank top and shorts that weren't packed away for the winter... just trying in desperation to get comfortable...and I LIVED IN THEM until that fever broke.

2. If you had to choose any LARGE city to live in, which would it be?
Well, technically I live in a suburban area of a LARGE city now, but if I had to pick one, I'd say Austin, TX.

3. Fly or drive with the kids on vacation?
Tough call...flying is certainly faster...but driving would probably be cheaper. So I'll go with driving.

4. What is your idea of "spring cleaning"?
Scrubbing and disinfecting everything from ceiling to floor...and purging. Once a year I go through and just throw away/recycle/donate a TON of stuff I don't use. It's amazing how much crap accumulates over time.

5. What is the best book you have ever read?
Way of the Peaceful Warrior by Dan Millman. A friend recommended it to me when I was in my late teens and going through an awful break-up (and let's face it, in your teens, what isn't an awful break-up?) It's a very esoteric but spiritual book that had a really terrible movie based on it a few years ago. The book's tagline is "A book that changes lives." A pretty bold statement, maybe even a bit cheesy, but having read it, I can say without a doubt that it changed mine. My copy is dog-eared, highlighted and has sticky notes all over it.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today, and have a great weekend everyone!

{CLOSED} Angelica Loves Petcakes! {Review and Giveaway}

This giveaway is now CLOSED! Thank you to all who entered! The winner has been contacted via email and has 48 hours to respond. Come back later this week when I'll have more awesome giveaways just for you, my wonderful readers!

I first heard about Petcakes through the blogging community, where lots of my fellow bloggers were posting reviews and giveaways. I just knew Angelica would love these cute plush toys -- and I was right! Ever since we got our Petcakes, she has insisted on taking them to bed with her every night! She even counts them to make sure they're all there.

From the Petcakes Toys About Page:
Well Made™ Toy Manufacturing Corporation, introduces PetCakes™, a new collectible plush pet line that will be a sweet treat for children ages 3 & up. Each PetCakes animal features a "frosting" hat, comes nestled in its own cupcake wrapper and has its own whimsical backstory. At first look, children will see a delicious cupcake but will then be surprised by the pet they find snuggled inside! Combining sweet faces and cuddly plush with a clever cupcake theme, PetCakes are collectible and provide hours of open-ended imaginative play. PetCakes make perfect gifts for a special friend and for pet lovers. They are ideal for birthday party favors, stocking stuffers and as rewards for good grades. Most of all, PetCakes deliver the kind of fun kids eat up!

We received the set of four Petcakes from series 1: Randy Candy, Twinkle Sprinkles, Coco Coconut, and Blueberry Buddy. The fact that these are made by a company called Well Made Toys makes sense, because they are truly well-made! They are (deliciously) cute, soft, cuddly and durable. I know we'll be enjoying them for quite some time!

As Angelica said just yesterday, "Petcakes are AWESOME!" (Those were her words, verbatim, though she sometimes calls them "Pet Cupcakes", too!) I asked her which one was her favorite, and she said, Coco Coconut and Blueberry Buddy. I think they're all cute, but I've got to agree with her on one...Coco Coconut is my favorite!

Just look at how much fun she's having with her Petcakes!
Angelica and Blueberry Buddy

Looks cute enough to eat!

Angelica and Randy Candy

Petcakes are intended for age 3 and up (though at 2 1/2, Angelica seems to enjoy them) and are available for $13.99 at specialty toy shops, and through toysrus.com.

CLOSED: Fogless Shower Mirror by ToiletTree {Review & Giveaway}

This giveaway is closed! The winner will be drawn shortly and contacted by email. Thank you to ALL who entered!

When I was a little girl, my dad had a shower mirror he used for shaving. It claimed to be fogless, but I remember it not working so well. I also remember that the mirror's coating eventually became cloudy, making it hard to see yourself, and it was stuck to the wall with suction cups, which failed on occasion.

I had been wanting to get a shower mirror for awhile. I tend to use the shortcut of washing off my makeup at the end of the day in the shower, and let's face it -- if you can't see to remove your eye makeup, sometimes you don't get it all and you wind up with raccoon eyes. Nothing is more annoying than having to re-wash your face after you've already washed it!

Thanks to the fogless shower mirror from ToiletTree, I no longer have this problem!

This is not your (or my) dad's old shower mirror. It is truly fogless, and doesn't have that coating that gets cloudy. It looks just like a real mirror, doesn't fog up, and best of all -- has yet to fall off the wall in my shower!

The magic behind ToiletTree's shower mirror is that it uses your own warm water to keep from fogging up. You just fill the reservoir in the back of the mirror with warm water, put it back on the wall, and it stays fog-free! At the end of your shower, just dump the water out and give the mirror a quick wipe with your towel and it stays perfectly clean and spotless.

Instead of using suction cups, the mirror is mounted on your shower wall with a combination of adhesive tape and removable silicone adhesive. The base installs in seconds! To mount it on the wall, just follow these quick and easy steps:
  • Wash your shower wall and wipe it down with alcohol to remove any residue that might keep the mirror from sticking
  • Let the wall dry
  • Stick the adhesive strips and silicone to the labeled areas on the back of the base
  • Stick it to the wall
  • Let it sit for 24 hours, then the mirror snaps right on.

That's it!

One additional feature that I love about this mirror is that it is adjustable. Scott and I are pretty much the same height, but I know some couples who are very different in height. This mirror will tilt up and down so that you both can use it!

Still have questions about how it works? Check out this video!

While this mirror might not save your life, it will definitely make it easier!

SodaStream - How To Make Your Own Soda at Home, Environmentally Friendly With Healthy Alternatives! {Review}

Scott and I are soda drinkers. Though I drink water like a fish, I do treat myself to a fizzy drink every now and again, and when the kind folks at SodaStream allowed me the opportunity to do a product review, I was thrilled!

For the purposes of this review, I received the SodaStream Fountain Jet, one carbonator, one set of MyWater flavor essences, and seven SodaStream soda mixes: Cola Free, Root Beer, Diet Pink Grapefruit, Cranberry Raspberry, Energy, Diet Lemon Lime, and Ginger Ale.

If you've never heard of SodaStream, it's a fantastic product that allows you to make soda in your own home! The SodaStream machine will carbonate cold tap water for you, and then you can either drink it as plain sparkling water, add juice, or add any of SodaStream's 30+ soda mix flavors. It takes seconds -- literally -- to go from an empty bottle to a soda flavor of your choice! Best of all, at about 25 cents per 12 ounce serving, it's cheaper than most brand name sodas you buy at the grocery store.

The Fountain Jet starts at $79.99 and soda mix flavors start at $4.99.

Here's how quick it is:
  • Add cold water to the SodaStream bottle
  • Attach the bottle to the machine
  • Press the carbonator button 3-5 times
  • Add the soda mix using the pre-measured cap
  • Gently shake to mix in the flavor

And that's it!

SodaStream is eco-friendly, which is something very important to me. The bottles are BPA free and reusable, which means that you won't be sending empty soda bottles to the landfill. Additionally, the SodaStream machine requires no batteries or electricity, and empty carbonator canisters can be exchanged for full carbonators. SodaStream cleans and refills the empties, further protecting the environment.

Another benefit: All SodaStream flavors are high fructose corn syrup and aspartame free! They use sugar or Splenda instead.

Finally, SodaStream's fizz lasts longer than soda bought at the store. I made two flavors three days ago (Diet Lemon Lime and Cola Free) and both are still as fizzy as the day I made them.

Coming in Spring 2011 are SodaStream Naturals, which will be made without any artificial colors or artificial sweeteners for those who are sensitive or seeking to eliminate these things from their diet. I am very much looking forward to trying these flavors when they come out!

I just can't say enough good things about this product. I think Scott summed it best up when he said, "I love SodaStream!"

My Year as a Vegetarian

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! While most of you are spending this day celebrating the many loves in your life (and I am too, though Scott is away on business), I am also celebrating this day as the one year anniversary of the day I became a vegetarian.

Strangely enough, though I am the only vegetarian in my household, it was not my idea to embark upon this journey. On Valentine's Day last year, Scott had planned to prepare some delicious meals for us -- sausage, eggs and pancakes for breakfast and followed by grilled steak for dinner. We had both been more conscious of our eating habits at that point, eating organic foods and free range chicken and beef, but during our breakfast that morning, Scott put his fork down and said, "I am suddenly disgusted by the idea of eating animal flesh." And so our vegetarian journey began.

He stuck with it for awhile but slowly began adding meat back to his diet. I never felt the desire to. I had been a vegetarian (and even a vegan) during my late teens and early twenties and had contemplated going back to a vegetarian lifestyle, but had never been motivated to do so. But on that day, armed with my new knowledge of nutrition and faced with the expense of buying only free range meats, becoming a vegetarian seemed totally natural. Honestly, I have never looked back, craved meat, or regretted the choice.

That's not to say that being the only vegetarian in a non-vegetarian household hasn't been without challenges. It means some nights I prepare two different meals. It means more dirty dishes when I make spaghetti and meatballs, since I either make veggie meatballs or just have plain sauce. For the longest time, I've been supplementing my diet with soy products, but as I've moved toward reducing the amount of soy I eat as well as the amount of processed foods, I've had to search for alternative sources of protein. (Beans, eggs, dairy, and cheese are all great if you are a lacto-ovo vegetarian.)

In terms of weight loss...you'd think a vegetarian diet would make it easier to lose weight, right? It seems logical, if you're cutting out fatty meats you should be able to easily drop the pounds. Let me tell you though, it's very easy to be a vegetarian who doesn't eat vegetables. While fruits and vegetables are acceptable vegetarian foods, other meat-free items include: cookies, cake, doughnuts, ice cream, chocolate...you get the idea. While those foods are all fine in moderation, eaten in excess, they can prevent you from losing weight. I'm a good example of this. This time last year I was in the low 260s. Today I'm in the low 250s. I got down to the 240s the middle of last year and gained some back because I started to let things slide.

As of today, I'm working hard to cut back on those unhealthy "vegetarian" foods, eat fewer soy products, and eat more fruits and vegetables. Today my lunch is a very delicious salad made of vegetables from our local farmer's market...organic romaine, organic carrots, organic broccoli, organic cucumber, roma tomato and mushrooms...with a dash of oil and vinegar and an ounce of cheese (for the protein). (Want to save a ton of money on produce? Farmer's markets are GREAT.)

I also quit the Couch to 5k program in week 7 last year. I'm proud to say that I'll be starting that again on Saturday! Doing that, combined with eating better vegetarian foods...maybe next year I'll be a much healthier vegetarian!

As with anything like this, if you're wanting to make a major diet or lifestyle change, it's best to consult with your physician. ...but if you have questions about vegetarianism, feel free to comment  and I'll try to answer as many as I can. I'm not a nutritionist or any kind of expert, but I can comment from my own experience.

Angelica's First Zoo Trip

Today we took Angelica on her first trip to the zoo! She was so excited about it. When we mentioned it to her last night, she said, "Yeah, I wanna go to the zoo and see all the animals!" Then we asked her what animals she wanted to see, and she said, "A lion, an elephant, a monkey, some flowers and some trees." Well, we didn't see a lion, she didn't care too much for the monkeys, but she was thrilled with the elephant, the snakes, and the kangaroo she saw!

At the end of the trip we took a ride on a train that basically just took us through the wetlands that the zoo was built on, and she really enjoyed that as well. After all was said and done, we got in the car to head home and she was asleep before we got out of the parking lot. I think that tells you how much fun she had!

Here are some photos showing the fun we had today!
